Our facility is unique in many ways. We understand you have questions. Below are some of the frequently asked questions we are often asked. If you have any questions of your own, please feel free to contact us.
How do I book a tour?
The only way to book a tour is by calling 561-790-2116. The phone is open Monday through Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM. If you get an answering machine during this time, we may be on the other line. Please leave a message and your call will be returned promptly. Full credit card payment is required at the time of your booking.
What do tours cost?
The tour cost is $50 per adult and $40 per child.
What is your accessibility for the handicapped or elderly?
Sanctuary tour are described as “walking” tours. However, people with limited or no walking abilities can still enjoy the tour. Much of the time is spent standing as opposed to walking, as most of the enclosures are relatively close together. You will also find several chairs and benches along the way. We offer a limited number of wheelchairs at no charge. Be sure to mention the need for a wheelchair when booking your reservation.
What animals will we be able to touch?
During the guided tour we take several of the small animals out for people to interact with. Possibilities would include: a tortoise, a parrot, a kinkajou, an alligator, a variety of snakes, and a tarantula, Every animal may not be available on every tour for various reasons. If you have a favorite please mention that when you book your reservation.
What is the parking situation?
We have parking on either side of the front gate. There is no fee for parking. You will walk in the front gate and give the phone number on your reservation.
Do you offer food or drinks for sale?
We do not have a concession stand. We offer water at the front gate for $2 each bottle. Chips and sodas are available at the gift shop at the end of the tour. Guest are welcome to bring food and drinks into the sanctuary.
Do you have a gift shop?
We do have a gift shop which is the last stop on our guided tour.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Gift certificates can be ordered by phone. They can be picked up in person or mailed to the recipient.
What happens if we are late for our tour?
Any late arrivals will be escorted in to join the tour in progress.
What time should we arrive?
We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before the tour starts. This gives you time to check in at the front gate, use the restroom, and feed the turtles in our pond. Tours start promptly at the scheduled time.
When are you open for tours?
We offer tours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Tour times are: 11AM, 11:30, 12PM, 12:30, and 1PM. Our office is open Monday through Saturday for booking reservations.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever makes you comfortable for the weather. You will be outside for almost 2 hours. The tour is about half shaded. The pathway is gravel and sand. Closed toe shoes are recommended, but not required.
Do you offer discounts for seniors or veterans?
We can only take a limited number of people through the sanctuary each day. In an effort to keep cost affordable for everyone, we do not offer discounts of any kind.
Do you offer group rates?
We do not offer group rates. We can take groups of up to 20 people at a time on a tour. The cost is the same at $50 per adult and $40 per child.
What if it rains?
We continue tours in the rain. We offer a limited number of umbrellas. The animals do not mind the rain so the tour is not otherwise changed.
Do you offer internships or volunteer opportunities?
We do not offer internships or volunteer opportunities at this time.
